Providing a complex URL to a customer can be very confusing, and it may lead to them not using the Cherwell Portal. To make is easier for the customer to get to your portal site, you can setup a redirect on the default web site.
With this setup the customer can go to www.mydomain.com,
and they will be redirected to www.mydomain.com/CherwellPortal
Note: You will need the assistance of your IIS admin to set this up. There is no configuration change in Cherwell needed. The screen shots below are from IIS 7.
- Open IIS
- Expand the tree to sites, and then select the default website.
- In the IIS section, open HTTP Redirect.
- Check the box to “Redirect requests to this destination”. Enter the location of the Cherwell Portal.
- Apply the changes and restart IIS.
