IT Conference for Service Desk and IT Support ProfessionalsYou don’t know everything. The good news is: neither does anyone else. So, where do you turn for guidance on IT service management matters? And if you’re a seasoned professional, how do you mentor rising stars in this field? For many IT service and support professionals, 2300 of them in 2014, the answer is the HDI 2014 Conference & Expo, April 1-4.

“The HDI 2014 Conference & Expo offers an incredible lineup of keynote speakers, sessions, workshops, and overall industry content,” said Michelle Frilow, HDI’s director of events and conferences. “With eight conference tracks and eighty sessions, attendees will have unprecedented access to information-packed presentations. This event is truly one I am proud to be involved with!”

I’ve been to many HDI conferences, both as an HDI employee and now as a vendor, and one thing that distinguishes this event from other IT conferences is the sense of community. Information is shared more freely than advice from your mother. This community was a vision of HDI’s founder Ron Muns whose mentor spirit, generous hospitality, and authentic desire to better the industry shined especially bright during the conference. The result is that, for a few days, people let their guard down and a greater good arises—advancing the industry through information exchange.

In this spirit, Cherwell Software will be presenting the IT Industry Legend award to three brilliant mentors who have shaped the IT service industry through their vision and instruction: Malcolm Fry, Jim Bolton, and Ron Muns.
