Could anyone please enlighten me on the new objects introduced in the Cherwell Installation package under "Media"?
What is their purpose? What can they be used for, and how?
Ex. I tried restoring the new CherwellPlatform.czar, but it's not complete. Not possible to login with CSD Admin. Only trebuchet tables in the DB (not sure if it's all of them). Is this on purpose? If yes, what is it's purpose?
The platform CZAR is baseline set that has the pieces needed to build out a completely fresh system from scratch from what I see in it. The apache and serverjre files are the ActiveMQ pieces needed for the new outbound email message queuing system. Not sure about the catalog file.

The CherwellPlatform.czar appears to be a copy of all the Trebuchet tables with user no data so it is not possible to use it without major hacking with SQL Management studio and the Trebuchet editor. There is no CSDAdmin user and no Security Groups. Also because it has nothing in it, when running the Cherwell Admin, Cherwell thinks it needs to upgrade it but this cannot be done as there are no users or security groups.
really not much use unless Cherwell provide instructions ion getting it to a working state. Surely they do not expect everyone to go through teh arduous process of hacking it to get it to work!

Thanks Scott! I had the same idea about the Platform CZAR. It's just that... it doesn't work. :-)
Thanks Geoff, I also noticed that the Platform CZAR didn't work after restoring it. I also came to the conclusion that this CZAR was a little too empty, but thank you for the detailed clarification.
I totally agree that it's not very useful, and I'm wondering why Cherwell decided to include it in the install package in it's current state. It probably needs a few more tables in it, like TeamInfo and UserInfo and at least the Admin security group and a CSDAdmin user. right?
Yes, I would agree. Would be nice if someone from Cherwell could respond with clarification or insight in how to get it to a functional state.
