It doesn't look like Cherwell support Microsoft Modern Authentication for office 365 email. Wanted to confirm that is correct, and how other office 365 folks configure their email connections.
That is correct - we just had to configure the connection to log directly into O365 (i.e. outlook.office365.com).
Thanks - looks like that works. I was just missing that on the exchange domain field (already had it on "Server Client Access" field), and send from "server" also needed toggled.
Just an update to this. I believe configuring Cherwell to log in directly to outlook.office365.com is using basic authentication. Not having support for modern auth is a pretty big deal, since support for basic auth ends next year. Very interested to know Cherwell's plan here.
Yeah you're right, it is basic auth. I might raise that question with one of my Cherwell contacts and see if they have any information.
Thanks! As an FYI, basic auth for o365 will be ending 10/13/2020, which seems to include blocking basic auth, so this workaround wouldn't work going forward.
