After asking Cherwell support, I changed my Customer-Internal's PublicID to Phone (instead of FullName), so I could use a goto command to link with our phone system.
However after testing, it does create an issue.
Now all my customer related item pickers malfunction.
I can still search using the name, but since the “Store display text in field” is set to customer, it won’t work.
Is there a way I could still use my related item pickers?
I guess I could create a Phone field in all the BO's that have a customer, use that field in "Store display text in field" and then autofill Customer, but that seems overwhelming. Other ideas welcome!
Set the public ID back to full name, disregard what you heard from support.
There's a command-line action I believe to perform a general/quick search, without just the public ID. I'll post back when I find it.
You can execute a Search for a given Customer by Phone number (Or any other full-text search enabled data) by executing the following command:
Trebuchet.App.Exe /S "Customer" "815-555-0123"
Where of course you have your full path to trebuchet.app.exe included, and you've subbed in the correct phone number.
