Per the subject, I ran the scheduled event last night to rebuilt the full-text search catalog and now searching in the client app and client portal view does not work.
Any ideas what can be done to understand what happened and how to fix it.. techs are pretty stuck at the moment not being able to search.

on prem. Anything that has been created after the maintenance can be searched, just nothing before it.
You might have better luck getting a DBA to manually rebuild full text for you in that case then!
I've seen this as a common issue for a long time.
Manually rebuild indexes and full text search in the admin console, (Potentially a few times), and reload defs, and it should revert back to normal.
I wouldn't recommend scheduling this db maintenance - this has been a recurring known issue that's come up on the community several times, going back as far as V5 I believe
