Hello Cherwell Community,
Quick question about using multiple quantity fields on a specifics form.
We have a specifics form where we ask the customer to specify how many additional monitors and printers they require. I used the Quantity field in this object for all three requests. (See yellow highlighted fields in the form edit screenshot below.)
Since we used the same Quantity field, when a value is entered into one of these three, that value is displayed in all three fields.
Can anyone suggest a solution so we can allow the customer to enter 3 unique values into each of those three fields?
We are fine with these being non-validated fields where the customer can type any numerical value. Such as a text box.
You need to add new fields for each one on the form, you cannot use the same field for multiple items.
Thanks for the quick response, Dave. Would the new fields be 'clones' of the existing Quantity field already associated with the specific business object? For example, would I need to add a Quanity1, Quantity2 and Quantity3 field to the specific form? If that is the approach, does this affect anything with the underlying data tables if I arbitrarily add 2 more Quantity fields? Appreciate the insight.
They can be called anything you wish and you can add as many as you need. You could call one Quantity of Sticky Printers, another one Quantity of Thermal Printers, etc.
Dave, Thanks for the insight. I was able to add the new fields successfully to the form.
