We are using Cherwell 4.3.
Is it possible to automatically run a saved search at specified time and export the results in CSV file?
Yes. One way to achieve this is to use the scheduler application and schedule a job to run based upon your time requirements. You would schedule a one-step action. The one-step would have a write file action and you would just include the fields you want separated with a comma. Make sure for the write to file action you name your file with a .csv suffix and you uncheck the "overwrite existing file" option as well as set the file type to plain text. Your one-step would also have the condition set to run a search group. So when the one-step runs, the search will happen and then the one-step will write out the file based upon your one-step write file configuration.
Thanks. I will try
So tried and it worked, thanks. However I have another issue:
I have 151 records from my search and it is creating 151 files for each row !
My OneStep condition is like this:
And the Write To file is like this:
Sorry my mistake, all working fine
Thanks once again for your valuable tip
Hi Faron, I am trying to schedule a search criteria to send out an email weekly. When I tried to follow your one-step instructions above I don't see the Incident/SR fields list to add the fields. I know this thread is pretty old, so not sure if anything has changed. But I have a search criteria I would like to automate so it sends out weekly. I tried using a report, however some of the fields came out blank on the report (they were under "Incident Owns Specifics"). Thanks.
