    Hi all

    Hope you are well

I am looking for a way for a client to be able to accept delivery of a service or product by signing on an iPad  and storing the signature in a rich text field.

    Any suggestion will be appreciated

    Kind regards

    Robin

We are currently beginning work on attempting integration with Cosign, which is an e-signature appliance, as part of a larger paperless initiative. Before we purchased Cosign, we were trying to think of a good way to do something similar to what you are trying to do. The two options we came up with, but never attempted to implement, were:

    • A cherwell field that someone could enter a PIN into, which would run a one-step and insert an e-sig into a rich text field.
    • a web app that we could call, which would bring up a signature block for the customer, and then populate the e-sig into a rich text field.

The first option would have been much easier to implement, but the customer would have needed to have an e-sig created and stored on a server to be able to sign with a PIN. Lucky for me we decided to go with Cosign, so neither idea got past the idea stage.

Please keep us posted with your progress as e-signatures are something more and more orgs are moving towards.

Here is what we are doing currently on the Incident object with a specifics form, and leveraging a Microsoft Surface running the fat client - until this is native functionality within Cherwell.

    One-Step Button on specifics form

    • Create Incremental Filename (using counter) - Example File0001.rtf  to avoid duplicates
    • Write to File (contents is the form template or just a blank box ; we use a full form with header and footer graphics)
    • Run a program --- call Word to open the RTF file just created in the prior step
    • Individual signs form in Word ; hits Save
    • Onestep transfers attachments (the word doc) to the Incident
    • Receipt (word doc) is emailed to Requested For / By

If one wants to delete the generated temp rtf file after, use "Run A Program" to call a batch file to remove it after it is attached to the incident record.

Picking up this old thread again...we're looking for the same thing and are interested to learn if anyone out there has a solution for this?

Hi Nick - Are you looking to integrate into another tool or attempt to build a module in Cherwell?  I'm hoping Dave will see this and add some insight as well.

    Rob,
We are looking to cover this with Cherwell alone.
