Tim was a board member for eight years and transitioned to an advisory capacity in 2014. He brings over 25 years as an executive in both public and private companies in the high technology areas of saas/enterprise software, internet, digital media & mobile communications. He has conducted over $750M in financial transactions and most recently was CFO at Appia, a mobile app discovery platform that was sold for $100M in 2015 and currently advises several technology startups. Prior to Appia he was the CFO of iContact where he led the company in growth from under $1M million in revenue to over $50M in six years and sold the company to Vocus Inc for $169M. Before iContact, he was the CFO of CipherTrust (Now McAfee), a leader in messaging security. & held various financial executive positions with OpenSite Technologies (Oracle), Broadband Technologies, MCI (Now Verizon), and Coopers & Lybrand (Now Price Waterhouse Coopers) where he earned his CPA.
Tim earned an MBA from Emory University and has an undergraduate degree in accounting from East Carolina University (Magna Cum Laude). In addition to his coaching certification from Duke Medicine, he has a Master of Arts in Counseling (Magna Cum Laude) and provides executive coaching at the Carolina Clinic Executive Wellness Center under the University of North Carolina Hospital. Tim spent much of his career in Atlanta & Washington DC but is a native of Durham, NC where he now lives with his wife and two sons.
