Project of the Year Award Germany for its successful reengineering of existing, internal ITSM processes and implementation of Cherwell Service Management
™, Cherwell’s flagship ITSM solution. GEFA is part of Societe Generale Equipment Finance, which is the international equipment and vendor finance

The 2012 itSMF Project of the Year Germany award winner was announced during the 12th itSMF Conference 2012 ‘Future of ITSM,’ which took place
in early December 2012 in Kassel, Germany. Recognizing the most challenging IT Service Management project completed in Germany during 2012, a jury of ITSM
experts reviewed submitted projects against the following criteria: Design, implementation and operation of a high level service or product in ITSM that
substantially improves the business operations of the organization. Projects must also adhere to one or more of the following industry standards: ITIL®,
ISO 9000/9001, ISO/IEC 20000, ISO 27001, Prince2™, Six Sigma. GEFA has a long history in managing IT Service Management processes based on industry
standards and in 2007, received ISO/ICE 20000 certification.
In 2011, GEFA, a customer of Cherwell partner plain IT, started its ambitious project entitled, ‘PACE: Professional
and Agile Contribution to Operational Excellence,’ which included the replacement of a Lotus Notes based ITSM solution to a more modern and
state-of-the-art ITSM solution. After a detailed ITSM tool evaluation process, GEFA selected Cherwell Service Management and used project methodology
SCRUM, an agile project management framework, to secure a successful implementation outcome.
