Cherwell at Denver Startup Games

With heart at the center of our core values, Cherwell makes an active effort to contribute to the communities we’re based in. On May 18 for the first time, we competed in the Denver Startup Games, a tournament-style competition, with 15 other Colorado-based companies for charity. Although we didn’t take home the gold, we congratulate Zoom Communications, on their exciting win. A fellow Cherwell customer, HomeAdvisor, took home second place…which is a win in our eyes!

Team Cherwell played for nonprofit, CodePath.Org, whose mission is to increase diversity in tech by transforming college computer science education for underrepresented minorities and underserved populations. This past weekend, our team was joined by CEO and Founder of CodePath.Org, Michael Ellison. Michael is a proven nonprofit and business leader, but also showed some leadership on the dance floor with his participation in the Just Dance competition.

“Startup Games provides a great opportunity to engage with like-minded companies in the Colorado area, as well as bond as a team, all while serving a greater good to back a great community of non-profits,” says Cherwell’s Chief Marketing Officer, Scott Gainey.

Our Cherwell team consisted of 24 eager employees battling it out at cornhole, Jenga, foosball, and more. We were also joined by many on our executive leadership team including Andre Cuenin, Jean Patrick, Josh Turpen, and Scott Gainey. In the end, the Startup Games allowed us to express our culture of collaborative fun, build bonds across departments, and give back to our amazing nonprofit partner. Startup Games 2020 will be our year!
